About the district

Pirallahi is Baku's smallest and quietest district. It sits on the island of the same name off the north-eastern tip of the Absheron Peninsula and covers the settlements of Pirallahi, Chilov and the famous offshore Neft Daslari (Oil Rocks). Pirallahi has long been tied to oil production, and oil fields and related infrastructure are still part of the landscape. The island is linked to the mainland by road, so central Baku is reachable by car or bus, although the journey is longer than from other districts. Housing is mainly private houses and low-rise buildings, and urban services are limited. Sea views and calm are the main pluses. It may appeal to people working locally, those wanting to live well away from city noise, and long-term land investors. Distance from the centre and the oil-industrial setting are worth considering.
