About the district
Narimanov lies north-east of the centre and covers about 24.5 km². Its landmark is the Heydar Aliyev Center designed by Zaha Hadid, and the district also hosts the Baku Convention Center and Baku Zoo. Next to Ganjlik metro stand the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium and Ganjlik Mall, opened in 2016 with direct access from the station. Ganjlik, Nariman Narimanov and Ulduz are the key metro stations, with a branch to Bakmil from Narimanov. Plenty of new residential complexes have gone up alongside Soviet-era blocks. International sources name Narimanov, together with Yasamal and Sabail, among the districts most favoured by the foreign community. A balanced choice for families, young professionals and investors. Main roads get busy at rush hour.
