About the district

Garadagh lies in south-west Baku and is one of the city's largest and least densely populated districts, with around 128,000 residents. Its administrative centre is Lokbatan. The district includes the settlements of Alat, Cheyildagh, Korgoz, Mushfigabad, Puta, Qizildash, Gobustan, Sahil, Umid and Sangachal. The E119 highway, linking Baku with the south of the country and the Alat port area, runs through it. The character is mainly suburban and industrial: oil and gas sites, terminals and logistics are concentrated here, while housing in the settlements is mostly private houses and low-rise blocks. There is no metro, so the centre is reached by car or bus. Garadagh suits people who work locally, buyers looking for a house with land, and investors interested in plots and industrial property.
